Jack Kanberg served as a ball-turret gunner in a B-17 in the 486th Bomber Group. He flew 28 missions. He was forced to bail out when his B-17 went down returning from one mission, but was safely returned to his unit a few days later. Medals that Jack received are the Air Medal and the Four Oak Leaves.
