William E. "Bill" Gossett served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He arrived in Europe following the D-Day invasion and was ultimately stationed at Orly Airfield located just outside of Paris once the city had been liberated by the Allies. He was trained as a radioman and served as a shirt supervisor for the Army Airways Communications System, which dealt with the communications from around the world. He most remembers the many iconic landmarks he was able to visit while stationed overseas.
