Marion Broers served as a Petty Officer Second Class aboard the USS Roy O. Hale (DE 336). Marion's duties included maintaining the armaments and depth charges aboard the ship. His ship performed escort duties in the north Atlantic Ocean. Marion recounts the loss of his only brother to the war which is something the whole country experienced in one way or another. This interview was conducted by students and staff of Gillespie High School.
