Colonel John Moore was appointed into the United States Air Force during the Vietnam war and proudly served in the “Red Horse” Squadron. He was originally stationed in Cam Rahn Bay, but spent most of his time in Tuy Hoa. His squadron was an engineering squadron, building shelters and structures for the Air Force. In the time he served, he was awarded a Bronze Star with a “V” for valor, which is the fourth highest individual award. He was also awarded the Air Force Outstanding Unit Citation Award with combat valor.
